Welcome to J-Term in Germany! Posted on December 5th, 2014 by

In the middle of wrapping up the semester, preparing for exams, and packing to go home for the holidays, 16 of us are also getting excited with plans for our J-Term in Germany!  After three days on campus for pre-departure orientation, we depart for Germany on January 8, arriving in Bremen on January 9.

During the course of our three weeks in Germany, we will stay for about a week in three different areas: Ostfriesland (a rural area in northwest Germany along the North Sea), Berlin (Germany’s capital and largest city), and München (Munich, capital city of  Bavaria, Germany’s largest state). In addition, we will spend two nights in Bremen to acclimate ourselves to Germany and one night in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a picturesque town with a city wall and buildings dating back to the Middle Ages.

Please bookmark our blog and follow our experiences in these areas as we learn about the diversity within Germany’s cultural identity. Students will be updating the blog with pictures, commentary, and reflections about their experiences – it should be interesting!!
