Ostfriesland January 13 Posted on January 13th, 2015 by

The day for Harley and I began with yet again a delicious breakfast made my Maike.  Everything was delicious as always.  Right away we went to some little parts of the area that were supposed to be Rsland und Amerika but that we were able to do was run out of the bus quick for a photo and then we got back inside right away because of the rain.  We then made our way to the North coast, or the southern coast of the North Sea.  Right before we got to the coast we stopped at a fish restaurant for some fish fresh from the sea.  I ordered Krabben which I thought for sure must be crab, and was a little more than slightly surprised when I got some small shrimp for lunch.  Everything was okay though, not only did it look like little shrimp it also tasted like it.  A few others disagreed and were not fans of the Krabben.

Shortly after we got to see the coast and it is quite the sight.  Cold, rainy, muddy and dark.  What a sight.  Actually though it was quite an impressive sight, as most things of such size often are.

We then went a very small ship in a bottle museum and I cannot say much more on it because that’s what there was.  A small collection of ships in bottles.  However, if anyone want’s one made Jack had quite the impressive display of craftsmanship and surely has a future in the bottle ship business.

For a while after we traveled to a seal exhibit/museum. These animals are awesome and I definitely need one for myself. While we were there all they did was swim in circles, bob up and down, or play with each other.  They are adorable, or at least that’s what the ladies on the trip said, not me, no way.

Was not the most productive day but there is only so much you can do when it is raining the entire time.
