First Full Day Posted on January 10th, 2015 by

Today was our first full day in Germany. It started off with a great spread for breakfast that included all kinds of breads, meats, various types of eggs, fruits, jellies and juices.  After filling up at the hotel, we went on a walking tour of the city where we went to the old part of town and learned about the buildings that ranged from the town hall that is 300 years older then United States, the massive house where the wealthy merchants lived, to the poor district with the smallest homes in Bremen; now a romanticized, highly sought-after area. After the guided tour, we were free to grab lunch and did so at corner Bratwurst stand and then to Beck’s Bistro for some drinks.  After resting at the hotel momentarily, we made our way to the Beck’s Brewery battling heavy rain and straightline winds that left everyone soaked to the bone, but excited none the less.  After learning about the long and rich history  Beck’s Beer, and sampling some of their flagships, we made our way across town sans the rain, to a nice little pasta joint for dinner.  Tomorrow we head out of Bremen to meet with our host families.  It should be a great time!
